Description
At long last, the legendary Honeywell PTM7950 Phase Change Thermal Pads from this video are available on lttstore!
If you're looking for a thermal interface material that offers higher performance than standard paste, but you don't want to go through the trouble of something like liquid metal, this is a fantastic middle ground for any PC or DIY server installation. Many laptop manufacturers also go for a thermal pad rather than paste on CPU & GPU installs, so if your older laptop needs a refresh we've got you covered.
PTM7950 sources tend to be overpriced or unreliable in most cases, so we're super proud to offer an affordable, trusted source for this unique thermal material.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Your thermal pad may undergo one or more phase changes during shipping, resulting in it arriving in a slightly deformed state. This is normal and will not result in performance issues of any kind after installation -- your heatsink will ensure even coverage.
In the event of any leakage from the product packaging, please contact customer support.
Unfortunately we cannot accept returns for thermal pads with open product packaging.

Size Guide
I always try and use this on my PCs now as it is easy to apply and performs almost as well as liquid metal. When I order from LTT Store I always get one for stock.
I purchased the smaller size and it came without damage. And was able to repaste my 3090 with it, along with a laptop gpu and cpu. Seems to be working great so far. Got my money's worth using every square millimeter available.
I needed to replace the noisy fans on my Lenovo Legion laptop. I cleaned most of the old thermal material and put down the PTM7950 PHASE CHANGE THERMAL PAD on both the CPU and GPU die covers. Pretty easy to work with and the laptop is running like new.
Best stuff around. Please keep this instock
I bought the 60mm x 60mm thermal pad with the expectation I could use it with one AM4 CPU, and the hope that I could use it with a second.
Applying the thermal pad was more difficult than expected. Following the video instructions, I kept it in the fridge for a very long time and applied it to the CPU first. However, pulling off the top piece of plastic without also pulling off the thermal pad was difficult. I highly recommend using tweezers or pliers as the instructions state. I don't think there's much that can be changed about the product to fix this, so this does not affect my rating.
What does affect my score rating was the shape of the pad. It was easy enough to use the product for the expected application of one AM4 CPU. For the second application I was hoping for, there was certainly enough area remaining to do it, but I had to get creative and use multiple pieces. Thus, I would have much rather the product been rectangular instead of square. This would make it much easier to take full advantage of all the material your purchase.
I will note that I'm not an expert on all the different sizes of CPU heat spreaders, so perhaps the square size is more optimized for some other CPU/s. If so, then some other ideas for addressing my critique would be:
- Documentation/instructions on the goodness/badness of using multiple pieces of thermal pad instead of one single piece.
- In product templates (e.g. printed on a piece of paper) to help customers more optimally cut the product to maximize the number of uses from one product order.
Other than that, I'm happy with how the product performs, and happy I didn't have to fuss about with thermal paste/wondering if I used the "right amount" (the main reasons I bought the product).
